Tapu, a myriad-minded boy of 10-11 years is born with a knack for seeing, believing and perceiving things unlike many and has the potential to give vent to them through his reveries and paintings. When lost in his own world he’s tempted to fathom the depth of Nature and all that surrounds him and is often oblivious to what the present demands from him. He has got the wings and often flies away to the fantastical world. Raja, a bosom friend of Tapu shares Tapu’s interests but not with the same lyrical intensity. Raja’s father like many other ambitious guardians disapproves of Raja and Tapu’s friendship and decides to send his son to a residential town school for better education and upbringing. Shantu, a so called mentally deranged person who likes to set the caged birds free, gradually starts to share a special bond with Tapu after Raja left. Dipak uncle, a man who sees his own childhood reflections in Tapu plays a pivotal role in nurturing and shaping Tapu’s dreams as his own dreams unfortunately remain unfulfilled due to social obligations. Raja, on the other hand, feels crippled and isolated in his new surrounding and his growing impatience forced his father to bring him back home. As fate would have it, their friendship soars high and is set to touch new horizon.
